What is a habitation check?
Your habitation check is, above all, a safety check and it’s vitally important to have regular checks, particularly on gas and electrical systems, to ensure they are working correctly and are safe to use. A habitation check gives you peace of mind that your vehicle is safe to use and well-maintained, ready for your next trip. Regular checks and preventative maintenance can also reduce the chance of small problems becoming bigger problems and costing far more to put right. The report we provide after we’d finished our inspection will keep you up to date with warranty sequels, and up to date maintenance records also increase the re-sale value of your vehicle.
Why have an annual habitation check?
The inspection is designed to carefully check your vehicle to ensure it complies with regulations and safety requirements within the leisure industry. Our experienced engineers will carry out a thorough inspection of your motorhome or caravan’s habitation area. We will check your electrical, gas and water systems to ensure everything is working perfectly. We will also look at the risk of fire, provide damp testing, and check your vehicle’s external bodywork. We also check for any problems and find anything that might need repairing before it becomes a major issue. On completion of the inspection, you will receive a full report with observations and recommendations for remedial action as required.

Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)
Before buying a motorhome or caravan, your PDI can make sure you’re getting a quality vehicle with no nasty surprises. We’ll give the vehicle a thorough inspection and give you all the information you need to make a decision. You and the seller will get a copy of our report to decide whether any work is to be carried out before the sale, and if you want to go ahead.
Price From £200.00
Damp Report
Your caravan or motorhome will get a full damp test which will show any water leaking into the vehicle. Using the industry standard meter allows us to see the smallest problems with damp and deal with them before they turn into major damage that costs far more to repair. It’s also worth getting a damp test done on any vehicle you’re thinking of buying.

Gas Systems Safety Check
While you don’t need a yearly gas inspection if you don’t rent your vehicle out, you do have to have one, by law, if it is rented out. We recommend an inspection even if only you and your family use your vehicle. We can provide a Gas Safe registered inspector, to check for leaks, look at your ventilation, check the pressure on the gas regulator, and provide a full safety check.

We do a very thorough check over your motorhome or caravan, and this can take some time, and it does depend on whether you are having any further checks done at the same time. However, when you book, we will be able to give you a better idea of how long it will take.
